This policy applies to personal information collected through the Mike Foley for Deputy Mayor campaign website. It does not govern websites operated by news organizations, public bodies, social-media platforms, or other third parties linked from this site.

When you submit the lawn-sign and volunteer form, it may collect:

• Your first and last name.
• Your email address and telephone number.
• The support options you select, such as accepting a sign, helping install signs, joining the canvas team, or hosting a small gathering.
• A delivery address, postal code, sign quantity, and property authorization when you request a lawn sign.
• Any availability, delivery, placement, accessibility, or gathering notes you choose to provide.
• Your consent choice, the form version, submission source, and submission time.

Technical information

The campaign’s hosting and form-service providers may process ordinary technical information needed to deliver and secure the website, such as an internet protocol address, browser information, request time, and security or spam-detection data.

3. Why we collect and use information

Personal information submitted through the lawn-sign and volunteer form is used only for purposes reasonably connected to the selected request, including:

• Confirming and responding to the request.
• Coordinating sign delivery, pickup, placement, replacement, or removal.
• Coordinating volunteer participation, sign installation, canvassing, or a small meet-the-candidate gathering.
• Contacting you when information is missing or arrangements need clarification.
• Preventing spam, abuse, fraud, or duplicate submissions.
• Maintaining campaign records where reasonably necessary for administration, security, or legal obligations.

Submitting the form does not automatically enrol you in unrelated email, text-message, fundraising, or campaign-marketing lists.

4. Consent and your choices

The lawn-sign and volunteer form requires express consent before it can be submitted. The consent statement identifies the information being collected, the purpose of the collection, and the service provider used to process the submission.

You may withdraw consent for future use of your information by contacting the campaign through its official published contact information. Withdrawal may prevent the campaign from completing or following up on an outstanding sign or volunteer request.

5. When information may be shared

Access is limited to campaign team members and service providers who need the information to operate the website or fulfil the selected sign or volunteer request. Form submissions are processed and stored through Netlify until they are reviewed, exported, or deleted by the campaign.

The campaign does not sell or rent personal information. Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to respond to a lawful request, or when reasonably necessary to protect the website, the campaign, or another person from fraud, abuse, or security threats.

6. Retention and deletion

The campaign will keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the selected sign or volunteer request, administer the campaign, resolve a concern, maintain security, or meet an applicable legal obligation. Information that is no longer needed should be securely deleted or anonymized.

7. Safeguards

The campaign uses reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, loss, or disclosure. No website, email, or online storage system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies and browser storage

This website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If you select “Accept and Remember” in the privacy notice, the site stores one browser preference so the notice does not appear again on later visits. Selecting “Continue Without Saving” remembers the choice only for the current browser tab.

Clearing browser storage removes the saved preference and may cause the notice to appear again.

9. Access, correction, and privacy questions

You may ask whether the campaign holds personal information about you, request a correction, or raise a privacy concern by contacting the campaign through its official social-media account or other contact information published on campaign materials. The campaign may need to verify identity before responding to a request involving personal information.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the website’s forms, service providers, campaign practices, or legal obligations change. The effective date below will be revised when a material update is published.
